I was out shooting today in some very windy weather, and at some point I noticed a large piece of dust got UNDER the lcd cover.
I know the lcd cover can be replaced, but can it be removed and replaced without having to buy a new one. IE, is there some adhesive used that once you remove the cover, it can't be used again?
Thanks.

I have the same problem... The general response I got from this board was to "live with it". Someone said you need some kind of suction cup device to remove the cover... I've decided to live with it...

Toner, it's good to know I'm not alone.
My particle is in the top left corner which is better than in the center.
I found this little tutorial (http://forums.dpreview.com/forums/read.asp?forum=1019&message=10852446)on the removal. I wonder if it can be re-used. If I could lift it just enough to get that piece out, then replace it, that would be great.
The interesting thing about this tutorial is that is shows a complete seal around the cover, so dust should not be able to get in.
Toner, was yours like that when you bought it?
EDIT:
I found this answer to my question in that thread.
"SUCCESS!!
I followed the directions, except the canned air, all i had, but i got that speck of dust out of there, and it was still sticky enough to reapply and works Fabously =D"

You got to wonder, with that gasket, how does dust get under it. Must be some kind of flexing going on...Or just some part that was not stuck down correctly. How old is your 20D?

I got mine in September.
It was extremely windy yesterday, like 80kmh, and I was shooting directly into the wind.
Perhaps the dust came in thru the front. i read a story about a guy with a 20D or 10D that had a small bug under his lcd cover. Later it somehow moved onto the focusing screen or sensor.
So the camera is not sealed from the front. So that may be how.

Wooohoo!
I used the suction cup method and it worked!
The cover came off nicely. A small strip of the adhesive on the bottom stayed on the camera instead of coming with the cover. That's ok, since it stayed in place.
Removed dust, replaced cover, and all is well. Gave a tug with the suction cup again, cover stayed put, so it's nice and tight.
If I notice more dust or fog in the future, which I shouldnt, I will just order a new cover from Canon to give a new seal.

Drisley:
How is the LCD screen and the dust?
Any new dust get in?
Does the LCD screen stay on so far?

The adhesive is VERY strong, so the lcd will not come off, even when re-using it.
Also the adhesive wraps around the outside of the lcd cover, so no dust or moisture can get in.
The biggest challenge is making sure the inside is clean before replacing the cover.
