Hey guys, I am in search of a new tripod. I don't want to pay more then $250 but I need one that is going to be good for landscapes, nature, etc. I want one with a ball head and what not. I am going to take it with me on vacations and whatnot. Just help me out if you can, thanks alot!

Did you read the Tripod FAQ (http://photography-on-the.net/forum/showthread.php?t=53864)? If so, what further questions do you have?

Look into a Benro. You can get one that packs up very small, doesn't weigh much and should be close to $250 for the aluminum versions. With your gear setup I think you could get a very light setup.

Benro has a fairly nice CF tripod line as well.. think its called travel angel.

Not very fond of their ballheads tho

The most often recommended tripod/head combination on the forum is the Manfrotto 055XProB tripod (http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/504845-REG/Manfrotto_by_Bogen_Imaging_055XPROB_055XPROB_Tripo d_Legs_Black_.html) topped off with the Manfrotto 488RC2 ball head (http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/272779-REG/Manfrotto_by_Bogen_Imaging_488RC2_488RC2_Midi_Ball _Head.html). These have been sold as a combination until just recently. Look around at different vendors (but stick with the well-known vendors) for the kit and you may find it for about $270.00 US.

There are some very good reasons why this is one of the most popular general-purpose tripod/head rigs.
