My camera randomly deletes photos

I have a Canon Powershot S5 IS from 2008. it did this one before. i took a bunch of photos, then someone said they wanted to see them. so i gave my camera to them, and they said there was no photos on the camera. i said i reviewed it 5 minutes before. so i thought they must of accidentally deleted them. so i found a program that recovers images and got them back. but today. i took some some city photos, then when i got home i turned on my camera to check'em out again, and there was a gap from 1 photo and another and i knew i took photos in between. i know for sure i didnt it delete. but i recovered the images..

What is going on? is it the camera or is the Memory card?
the memory card is an ATP 2.0GB

chances are it's your memory card. do you have access to another one to test?

well the see is, it deletes them at random. i am reformating to FAT32...
this is the only memory card i have [i lost my 2 other 2GB Cards {Kingston, A-Data}]

Memory cards are dirt cheap these days - just get a new one and format the new card in the camera ,NOT your PC!

ROFL i Formatted the Memory Card, not my Computer xD

Suck it up and get a new card. Cards are cheaper than gasoline. Skip the random road trip next time and get a memory card instead.

8gb is the way to go for vacations. i maxed out 2 4gbs in 8 days due to videos. blah.
