Well the Canon strap is an option. Two major recommendations around here though are the POTN strap and the Domke straps.

Thanks for the suggestion.
How about something with neoprene material ? is this good material ? I always thought that straps with padding are better on the shoulders ?
What are your thoughts ?

These are the two that have a great deal of neoprene padding, the Optech Utility Strap and the Crumpler Industry Disgrace( Crumpler's naming system is idiosyncratic, to say the least.) Both very comfortable. The Utility is padded as is the POTN, but without a separate black strap. The POTN will probably distribute the weight better.
You might also consider wearing the camera across your chest, which may be more comforatable than dragging it around your neck. Make sure the strap will reach at least 52-55" to do that.

love the look of the crumpler, heh.
I'm also looking for a hand strap for my gripped xsi. it seems hand straps don't differ much from one body to the next, so what's the hotness for ball-head-mounted, and hand-held?

+1 for the Crumpler strap if you want something with some padding. I've got one on my 1D2 and love it.

I have had the POTN strap on my 40D and my 5Dmk2 and I love it.

POTN strap is what I use on all my cameras, and my binoculars. It's a special-order Op/Tech neoprene strap.

Any neoprene strap. If you want it to say Canon, this one's only $14 shipped. I've had good luck with the company but haven't tried that strap: http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.7026

Check out the PacSafe carry safe 100. Just bought one and i'm very happy.
It has slash proof wire built into the strap to stop it being cut and stolen, i was a bit worried about that making it too stiff but its not at all.
I'm using this in conjunction with a camdapter plate and an e-1 hand strap and i love the setup

Where to buy? The POTN's are on the site here. Check B&H Photo and Adorama Camera for the others. The Pacsafe 100 is a superb strap if security is an issue, at www.rei.com

the problem I found when having a play with the neoprene straps is they bounce if you have heavy gear on them when you move around. YMMV though...

With the POTN strap, the stretching and contracting are limited by the nylon web strap that goes across the neoprene. It's probably the coolest of the Optech straps. Especially with the logo.

I love my 4 POTN straps and I really advise you get the extenders. I like the strap a lot longer so I can wear it across the chest.
