Beautiful photos!
Does the law require you to have special fencing for wolf hybrids. I would imagine they're not suitable for just anyone.

Special fencing is not required, but it's always nice to have. We have a chain link fence that extends underground a bit, and right behind it we have a wooden plank fence. We can easily extend fencing if we feel it is needed (our previous hybrid was very well behaved and respected our fencing, so 6 ft was enough for him). We have not had any problems with destruction of property or anything of the sort, so there is no need for a actual containment pen. We allowed our previous hybrid in the house and he would just loaf around and nap for hours on end. As our little one gets out of the teething/must chew everything phase, she too will be taught how to be a good little indoor companion. It helps on super hot summer days when we take our animals in till the evening.

Most of these shots, if not all, were shot with the 70-200mm f/2.8L (non-IS). :)

This little girl came from Indianna. :) Her sister also lives in CA, out in Covina I believe.

Do you also not need a special licence? Here in the UK people sell dogs that are suposedly wolf hybrids but they're not. Yours does show the difference to what people over here are led to believe are wolf hybrids as yours does look quite like one.

she is so beautiful. I keep coming back to look at her. We couldn't have a wolf hybrid in Australia. Well, that's not exactly true, we could have a dingo cross, there's a few of them around.

sometimes they'd just pass for a regular dog, there's a bit of variation depending on what the cross is. Because our Kelpie breed is a prick eared dog alot are often passed off as kelpie crosses. Even the dingo itself doesn't look as wolfy as the Northern hemisphere wolves, although it is an Asiatic wolf.

I don't know the percentage of wolf in My late Sara Lee but, she (as per several vets and other hybrid owners) was definitely part wolf. She also had golden retriever and German shepherd genes.

Sara was a darling girl who was extremely gentle but, who was also protective when needed. She was the ultimate in canine companion.

What is Bella crossed with?
thought I'd put a pic of an Aussie wolf (Dingo) in here for comparison.

Bella is gorgeous, but in the #1 shot of your last post, you definitely see, the Wolf in her. The GS in her, looks to be her coat, and thats' about it. How does Bella, handle the dry heat of Cali?

Actually, we do get Dingos here in the states. Here is an American Dingo, also known as an Indian Dog, Carolina Dog, etc. This is our American Dingo Brodie:

She's a wolf/german shepherd mix, rated around 52%. :) We don't even get Dingos here in the states.

Here's some more photos of her:

Great pictures.

Here in Utah and portions of other Rocky Mtn states wolf-hybrids are illegal to own down to the 3rd generation (F3). Beyond F3 they must be caged at all times or kept on a leash when taken out.

One thing going against wolf-hybrids is that the rabies vaccine does not work. So even if you give them a rabies shot, they are still succeptable to the disease.

interesting, hind dew claws. What's the story with the American dingo? He must be a different breed to the Aussie dingo surely. My understanding is the Aussie one came over from Indonesia many thousands of years ago, so is descended from the Asiatic wolf, to which it looks very similar........if not the same.

The American Dingo's origin isn't easily tracked. There are several thoughts that it came from the Native Americans efforts to domesticate the native North American Canids. But others think that its the result of dogs brought to North America from elsewhere and then breeding in a feral state so that the "breed" is bred out of them. They actually look very similar to feral dogs from Iraq and the middle east as well as other parts of Africa.
