This place is a local institution that is Saturday Night Out for lots of folks around here and a mandatory business trip for dealers from New York to Boston. We've been going here off and on for over 30 years and have a lot of furniture and bric-a-brac around the house to show for it.

Richie's father ran the auction for decades and for about the last 20 years, Richie and his ex-wife, Sue (in white top), have run it. Sue is an accomplished photographer who shows her work in area galleries and makes the best damn pies I have ever had (one of the reasons the locals go there every week).
The dresser Richie is showing went for about $500. His featured item of the night, an early 1800's English butler's desk in mint condition, went very low. "STOLE for $275" said a visibly disappointed Richie.

Check out the Canton Auction Barn website. If the April 9 preview is still posted you can see the butler's desk.
