We didn't feel like doing much today so we stayed at home and played in the backyard. I sat in a chair not far from the bottlebrush tree and ambushed the birds with my 100-400 and 1.4x TC. Both shot handheld. I set the ISO at 800 yesterday and left it there while I shot the Warbler.
I'm sure the first is a Verdin. The second looks like the picture of the Nashville Warbler in my field guide, but according to the guide those birds don't live around here. Maybe he's just migrating through?

The red bottlebrush plant adds a nice color to the bird shots.
