Two pictures of friends H D V-Rod. I cant decide which crop I prefer and the two pictures are too similar to include them both.

The shot in itself is beautiful. I would ask yourself what you need the picture for, that would dictate the required crop.
If it was for a calendar page or simply for your wall I would take number 2. However number one has more sky and would lend itself to text overlay in a magazine.
You have the front forks of the bike leading the eye into the top left portion of the sky, the roundness of the mirror acts to slow down the eye... even the brake lever leads you back in and around. I would burn in the top left a little if it were intended for publication and text overlay, editors like their words of wisdom to be seen.
Front wheel is perfectly cropped with bottom and right edge of photo. The bike itself is evenly lit with no appreciable hotspots. It's also nice to note that there is no garbage or branches laying around... very nice shot... it made me look twice. Well done.

No it is solid and has no spokes.

Took it for pure pleasure, so the crop question is an academic exercise because I really don't know which one I prefer.

Number 2 seems to me a little too...plane.
Number 1 seems like having high and depth...
My vote is for number 1

In 2, I like the puff of cloud surrounding the mirror. It's moved in 1. But I like the angle of the bike in 1. Both are good, different ways.

I like shot 1 because the open sky give a little more illusion of ... freedom? open space? depth? Not sure how to describe it. ... the reflections on the gas tank in #2 make it look dented. Other than that, I would be proud to have taken either of them.

I like number one. The bike aside, I really like the clouds in #1 better.

No. 1, because it gives me room to imagine seeing myself on the bike.

For what it's worth, Neil, I prefer No. 2--it has a more dynamic feel, as if the bike is about to launch itself off the page. Great work, as usual.
Cheers,
Terry
