I like how the lady sitting next to him is taking a picture of him without being the least bit intrusive. :lol: That's so funny.

Haha, that's his wife Tracy. She used to have a habit of bringing in a Rebel with a 70-200 2.8L or 100-400L and getting away with shooting it in the stands, but lately seems to just use a point and shoot.

So, my fiancee discovered another use for a rocket blower - if a cat is annoying you, blast them in the face with it and they'll run away. It's as effective as a squirt bottle!

I use the canned air for that, buy I don't shoot it in their faces...

Well, the rocket blaster isn't as powerful as canned air, it's just a gentle squirt of air and they turn around and walk away. Febreeze is also a good cat repellent; spray it in the air nearby, but not too close and definitely not directly at them and they'll just turn around and walk out of the room with an "eww it stinks in here" type of look.

I DID IT!! I finished my action set. Cat is beta testing it for me :) But it's called "Colors gone wild" and it allows you to: change eye colors, add a tan, add lip color, eye shadow or liner & hair highlights! :mrgreen: By the way, this is my first ever set!!

How'd you get the texture shot so perfectly flat? I'd think there'd be some sort of distortion. Tilt shift or perspective correction after the fact, or just plain mad skills?

How'd you get the texture shot so perfectly flat? I'd think there'd be some sort of distortion. Tilt shift or perspective correction after the fact, or just plain mad skills?

Long lens. 70-200 at 200.. :) That pretty well flattens perspective.

Well yeah, but even with a 300 on a 1.6 I've never been able to pull something off that was so perfectly flat.

So, we had a big meeting with all of the programmers yesterday. A meet and greet to someone new to the team who will be working remotely.

I learned a lot about my team mates that I never knew. We have a couple PhD's and a former astrophysicist on our team. How one goes from astrophysics to writing structural engineering software I'll never know... :lol:

Andy works for the gov ..he got a notice just last week that he now has mandatory overtime of 16 hrs a month .Thats works for us ,we could use the money for all the times we did without .

Oy. Yuck, poor little dude. Teeth are a PITA. Idk what was up with my Ian. He didn't nap much yesterday afternoon and went to bed early. He's working pretty hard on the crawling thing so I think that might be part of it...he's just SO busy. Could be a little bit of teeth too....he's chewing like crazy on just about anything he can get his hands on. He's already got two in on the bottom so I think the top ones are working in soon.

I feel ya Deb....hubby works about 32 hours overtime a month. Its rough (he works 12 day stints) but at the same time we're grateful for the extra pay.

As Deb said, could be the mirror.

Try shooting shots at 1/60th and then 1/4000 or so if you can and see what happens. I said dying shutter because of the angle, it's more prominent on the left side of the frame (if you were to rotate it so the top of the sensor was on top), and the shutter blades are angled in the direction of the shadow. If it is the shutter, it would be more prominent at higher shutter speeds, which is why I say try taking shots rangong from 1/60 to 1/4000 and see what you get from there.

I'll try that James. I was told in the 5D thread that skyports sync slower than other triggers so maybe it's just the trigger. I did take a shot last night with it and it seemed fine.

Hopefully it's just a sync issue. Having a shutter go that soon would suck! I'm pretty sure that it's the shutter you're seeing in the picture, but if flash sync comes into play that could explain it in a much more pleasant way.

We have had 2 layoff rounds a year since 2001 so I'm real use to it, but we just completed one in November, then another in February so we were thinking all was well for the year. But nope, looks like we are switching to quarterly. It's getting tiring waiting for your turn out the door.
