Hey guys :D

Just wondering what the recycle rate would be if I used Sanyo Eneloops in a Canon 430EX II?

If you have this combo please post :D

Also, if I have a 40D + 430EX II and I was shooting at 6.5FPS what would happen? Would the FPS drop?

Or would the flash only fire every 3 shots?

Joshh ;)

1st 5 Pops Average Recycle Time: (3.37sec)
After 100 pops: 3 AA's @ 100% and 1 AA @ 80% capacity remaining (4:63sec)
After 200 pops: 4 @ 80% (5:37sec)
After 300 pops: 1 @ 80% and 3 @ 60% (5:41sec)
After 400 pops: 4 @ 40% (7:63sec)
(Recycle time starts to really drop after the 400th pop)
After 450 pops: 4 @ < 20% (2min 42sec)

Give or take....

Also, if I have a 40D + 430EX II and I was shooting at 6.5FPS what would happen?

One way to fry a good flash... ;)

Why 2100 enloops vs 2700 power ex?

I guess the only reason is that they hold their power better. If you don't use your flash everyday, eneloops are a reliable bet.

Why 2100 enloops vs 2700 power ex?

eneloop = ready to use, low self-discharge like alkalines... low maintenance..

Great for intermittent use... charge in advance for travel...

Powerex = higher power performance but higher self-discharge... higher maintenance...

Great for one-time high intensity use, such as wedding....

^Yup. I use my Eneloops for a wedding at the ceremony when I dont use a flash as much since I'm not snap snap snapping. I switch to my powerful Energizers at the reception when I take a lot more and quicker shots.
