So I grabbed by camera bag and made it out to the Redlands Bicycle Classic on Sunday. When I went to grab my camera, what happened? It wasn't there. I managed to leave 40D and 70-300 DO IS at home. Fortunately, I leave my Rebel G and some fuji 200 in my bag. Since I didn't have a telephoto, I grabbed the wide angle and got REALLY close. I got a few keepers after all. Moral of the story? Always have a backup

EDIT: BTW, it is 10 times more difficult to take sports pics with a 10 year old rebel than a 40D. I really missed by focus points

Amazing shot! I was experimenting with wide angles (see my snowcross thread) for this kind of effect.

There`s just something about film. Even though I have a 50D and 5D mark II, I really really notice the difference that digital full frame still lacks in the amount of detail and quality and clarity and naturality it captures.

This is very interesting as I was shooting some mountain bike shots last week and after going through them, I fancy trying my 20mm on my old EOS3 for some really wide stuff. After seeing that pic, decision made - time to buy some more film ;)

Thanks for the kind words. I am looking to get an EOS 3 or EOS 1V for my backup as the rebel just can''t keep up with sports. I was actually pretty disappointed with my film pics, but it was better than nothing.
BTW, anyone like Rock Racing? They do have a cool car
