Hi All:
When I open a RAW file, the workspace is huge and I cannot make any adjustments. In addition, I cannot use any pull-dow menus in CS. how do I get the RAW workspace to fit on the desktop and how do I edit preferences for RAW files?
Thanks,
Scott

When you open a Raw file in PS CS you automatically open Adobe Camera Raw. You cannot access the pull down menus in PS CS until you make whatever adjustments you want in ACR (exposure, white balance, saturation, etc) and convert the file. Once the Raw file is converted, it will open in a normal PS CS workspace. You can then access all the pull down menus and adjust your workspace as needed.

Thanks for the info ont he pull-downs, but I still have the problem of the workspace size being too large to see any of the adjustment controls on the right side. How do I get this to fit on the screen?
Thanks,
Scott

You could try putting your monitor into a higher resolution mode, resizing the window, then changing it back down. I use 1280*whatever and it works fine - what's your screen resolution?

I thought it was a size resolution issue. I think that Adobe is now specifying a 1024x768 screen size when using their RAW convertor. If you can't make your screen bigger, you could try the new Raw Shooter converter, whcih is free and pretty good.

Thanks! The resoloution of 1024 x 768 works, but the font is pretty small for me (my old eyes!), where do I get the new Raw Shooter converter?

Try this thread (http://photography-on-the.net/forum/showthread.php?t=66760).
You might look at getting yourself a larger monitor, I quite like my 19 inch LCD, and they're not too expensive, especially in the states.
