So, ironically, last week on the same day two people asked me if I would be interested in shooting two separate weddings. I'm still waiting to hear back from both people about more info on them, but figured I would post up anyways. I've never shot a wedding before, and they're really looking for something to capture what's going on during the whole event, not a very serious/professional shoot. I feel pretty confident and would really like to jump on this opportunity. Currently I have a 5D, 17-40l, and 50mm 1.8. The only thing I know is I need to get a flash. Would those two lenses be good enough for a typical wedding shoot? Because I want to really do my best with the whole thing and try to be as professional as possible, but surely don't consider myself a professional; I think I could do a pretty good job for what it is. I'm looking for any input. Thanks.

update* the first wedding is going to be in the first week of may, shot at a church then more shots after the wedding at either a beach or garden area

You may want to look at a long zoom like the 70-200 so you are not up in peoples faces and can snipe comfortably (for you and them) from a distance.

Rent a 70-200 if you don't want to buy one. You're going to need it.
