Typical little boy behavior. The photos are only mediocre but I love the reflection in the puddle.....

After this polite puddle trek, we found him up to his ankles in a big puddle........ it was almost too good to be true until the end.....

i love it how it makes something normal and mundance, look like a real "life" moment - almost like he is looking into his future - Im sure he will treasure the piccy when he's older :)

Thanks... I printed these for his scrapbook and they look so much better when not compressed down to this forum's requirements.

Cute. ;) Wonder what he was thinking? I raised five kids and every one of them would head for the nearest puddle at that age. :D

Hope you dont mind but I did some photo manipulation on the first one I think it brings a different feel to it. I made everything but his reflection black and white. http://jupiter.walagata.com/w/my2girlsknh/reflection.jpg

Photonut, love the edit.

Maureen ... great concept and capture of the photo . . . out of curiosity, when you and Skip go out together, do you both bring your 20Ds along or just one? now if I can only convince my fiance to take up an interest in photography . . . hmmm . . .

Very, very nice, Maureen--took me right back to when my daughter was about that age (she's twenty now) and my camera was almost always with us when we were out and about. She's autistic, and has always delighted in going through all the photos I took of her as a child because she has a near perfect memory and can recall the circumstances of most of the shots.

If recent postings I've been looking at represent the norm, it must be pretty hard at times to even be seen with a camera pointed at a child in public any more--even one's own, if he/she happens to be playing among a group of other kids. With all the media-aggravated paranoia that's so rampant these days we're learning to be afraid of our own damn shadows. Seems that unless something changes drastically, and soon, we're headed for a very bleak time when a child's interactions with peers and the world at large are going to be chiefly represented by large gaps in the family album, unrecorded and unavailable to future generations. Fear is not much of a legacy to leave one's children with, is it?

Sorry; I didn't mean to sermonise here. Your photos just struck a deep chord in me. Just you keep right on taking lovely shots like this that you and your family will cherish for years to come.

Regards,
Terry

Terry, I hope you aren't right about this but I can see where it might be headed that way. That is one reason it is so important for family members to take photos and document. I am a big scrapbooker and every detail of my kid's and grandson's life is down on paper..... and I'm not going to stop.

Glad to hear you printed them They are classics. Mounted and framed side by side would be great. I think too many great digital images don't end up as nice prints when they really should. It looks like the temp is off a bit in one of the images. But I think they might work even better as mono or possibly even warm tone duotone prints. Keep shooting and posting!

you should work on the curves just a tad and have some fun with these- they are excellent but give em some POP ( touch of contrast maybe or saturation) and matte them together and frame them.....I think are very atsy feel to them and then ,atted togther would look excellent in anyones home!

LOVE puddles!!!
