About 1.4 MB/s according to Rob Galbraith's CF database. Pretty dismal compared to a 20D, which can do nearly 6 MB/s and 1D Mk II which blazes at 7.1 MB/s! So, don't go out of your way to get the fastest CF cards, unless you plan to keep them for the next camera.

But if you have fast CF cards and use a USB 2 reader you can store your pics onto your computer at the max speed of the card so you can take advantage of the read speed.

I've seldom had a lack of patience waiting for pictures to download to my computer through my USB2 reader. A slower card is not a problem for me right now.

i think it is always worth buying the faster cards e.g the Lexar 80x as there is little differentiation in price, the read speed is quicker, it can be used when a camera comes out at a good price (prices seem to be falling quite dramatically) which can take advantage of it. The cards come with a lifetime guarantee so its worth spending that little bit extra as technicxally it should only be a one time purchase

They already are ;-)
The XT 350D has the same read/write speeds as the 20D.

Well, it would help if Canon utlized WA technology. They don't. So don't believe the Lexar advertised "WA" speeds. You ain't getting it with Canon equipment.
