Sometimes these birds are just too inquisitive for their own good. I think that they are quite amusing and often very photogenic.

Very Nice!

You live in Morro Bay or just visiting? I lived there a long while back, quiet little town.

I agree the seagulls can be very comical.
Nice pics!
Here is a Seattle gull--looks to be a slightly different sub-species I think.

We were just visiting. It is about a 2 1/2 hour drive from home. Had a lovely time.
While there chatted with a nice gentleman from th U.K. sporting a 20D with 70-200mm f/4 L and a 1.4 teleconverter.

You meet the nicest people wearing a Canon camera strap:eyes

Herderdog, I see you have moved up north. Here is another Seagull. I believe a different variety from your post or miy first pix. Much uglier too.

Well, this guy is an immature bird. He is probably the same species. I was trying to dig out my bird books--but was unsuccessful finding them right now. I think it takes about 3 years for the gulls to change into their adult plumage--and their beaks change too.
I took ornithology at Cal Poly (a looooong time ago) so I am just running on my feeble memory.
I'll try to find my books!;)

edit: Skip yours looks like a "Yellow -footed gull' and mine a "Western Gull"
Maureen might even have yet a different one.

Woah, dude, those are awesome. I absolutely love the second one of the gull in flight. Beautiful bird, beautiful shot. Well done!

I think there is a limit on the number of seagulls in one thread . . . and this is coming dangerously close, lol. Nice shots all. It is fun to photograph our feathered friends, but the squawking . . .
