Hey guys,

I need a relatively inexpensive but good quality wireless lapel set up for the 5d. It is for a company that wants me to shoot some footage of their employees which will be posted to their website. It doesn't need to be pro caliber per se but needs to sound as close to pro as possible. Any ideas?

thanks,

oz

Oz,
I used the built in mike on my 5dMII to shoot and record a friends band, it turned out sounding really nice, not perfect but was good. Have you tried the built in mike ?

This question really has nothing to do with the 5DII at all. You'll basically need a stand alone recorder and a wireless mic / receiver system. Then you'll have to combine the audio and video in post.

Do you know how many channels you need? Do you already have something that you can record audio with? You could use a portable recorder or a laptop with an external soundcard.

The Samson Stage 5 looks like a decent starter setup:

You can always give Sweetwater a call. They aren't the cheapest place around, but they know their stuff.
