I'm so happy, I was really stressing about not getting the DoF right thankfully it's an improvement from before.

I'd appreciate your honest opinions and how you think I can improve using just my reverse lens until I purchase a macro.

Thankyou guys.

Wonderful series - only C&C would be that in some of these you still have the main subject a bit central in the image

what did you use for the drops on the peacock feather?...i tried that with water, and it wouldn't stay formed on the feather like you've managed to do...

nice shots

Thanks Brian, you're a huuuge inspiration you know.

Do you think the subject would look better in a corner or sides? I wasn't really too sure :o

Thanks so much carla, now that i've learnt how to take clear drop shots I will try to take better glitter drop photos and post them we'll see how they turn out :)

I used drops of water, you need to try it near the center of the peacock feather eye!

Thankyou so much :)

Nashilee - up to you but the rule of thirds works well for shots like this

But am I right to understand that you think the subject right in the center doesn't look good?

In general no - depends on the subject and the rest of the picture though. Look up the "rule of thirds" on google - you'll get the idea. BTW - it's not just me- it's something that has been used by artists etc through the centuries to construct pleasing compositions.

Yup, and it transfers through to graphic design too, as it's based on how your brain reads images etc. It's what is subconciously pleasing to the eye.

Not sure why i felt the need to say that, but you've gotta follow your instincts right? :p

thanks, i'll have to give it another shot then...originally i was thinking of spraying the feather with some anti-water spray type of thing...but i'll try close to the center first

That would be a good idea also because the drops will be smaller and wont sink. Try that I will too ;)
