I didn't spend too much time on it, but I did to a bit of PP. It was converted from RAW, played with the tone curves a little bit, changed contrast, a few other things. I didn't want to brighten it up too much because I didn't want to lose any detail.

how about changing your image editing status to 'ok' , and let people have a play with it , might give you some pointers on improving your shots , also , it might be worth having another go at ISO 100 :)

I thought I had done that to begin with, guess not. :)

I started out at ISO 100, but it seemed like it was coming out too dark, so I went up to ISO 200. If the skies are clear tonight I will go back out and see what I can come up with.

Very nice shot, looks like you got a nice sharp 100-400 sample. A minor curves adjustment would make this one pop. Protect the highlights and darks and work in the mid tones.

Thanks for the tips. I'll play with the RAW a little bit more and see what I can come up with. I'm sure I can make it look a little bit better. :D

That's a good moon image you got there, off to a grand start! I'd second Steve's advice. It does also look a tad underexposed to my eyes, I'd like to see a comparison shot between the PP'd and non PP'd versions.

What night did you shoot this pic?

On Monday night, I was in the backyard BBQ'ing and had the 400 5.6 still attached to one body. The moon looked pretty sweet, so I threw on the 2x and got a pretty good shot at 800mm on a 1.6 crop. I still need to add another 1.4x T/C to really get close enough. Already stuck at f/11 with the 400 and 2x attached.

Here ya go, Dave. This is straight out of the camera. It's not cropped, so the moon looks much smaller, so it's sort of hard to get the idea.

Here's one with a bit more time spent in PP. I'm not sure if I went the right direction with this, let me know what you guys think.
