I have read the best positioning for the flash while indoors is between person taking photo and the subject, so that is the basic, full person/things exposed evenly, right?

What if you are outside and taking a photo with the sunlight behind you, in the sort of evening where you could use a flash. Where do you aim it?

What if you don't to take a photo iindoors, with brightness behind the subject without a flash? Is it possible? Would it be White balance adjustment?

your question seems a little confusing but here is my take. When outdoors, use a flash to fill shadows and even out your subject.

When indoors, and only lighting from behind (not sure why you would do this) your exposure is going to be tricky. you either expose for the back light and end up with your subject under exposed. Or expose for your subject, and possible blow out your background.

Is that what your asking?
