I just did a quick check on when I last charged my battery....721 pictures ago. Youzers. Granted, I don't use the built in flash, but that's still a lot. Wonder how many the new XT can get on a charge.

I think, that you can get more on the 20D, will have to check specs. think the XT gets less as it is a little camera and I think they take hearing aid batteries.

I can get near 1k shots on a fresh charge with my 20D. This battery and camera are well designed. I am more than pleased, my Pro 1 eats batteries in comparison.

The 20D uses a BP-511A and is rated for 550-1000 shots per charge.

Despite what was stated previously, the Digital Rebel XT uses type NB-2LH for 350-600 shots per charge.

Thanks for clearing that up Bob. Whew! I need those hearing aid batteries where they belong. I can't type a word without my Miracle Ear! :lol:

I have never run out of juice on my 20D. I bought a back up battery but so far I have not needed it.
