color accent and color swap (SX10 IS)

Has anyone used these features? I tested color accent today, and while it was interesting I am wondering how to use the feature creatively.

I use the color accent sometimes....here are a couple

It is one of the special scene modes on
our A610 and SX10is

You pick a color in the shot that you want and
the rest of the shot is B&W.

I haven't used the color swap feature.....but I
do like the color accent.

You select the special scene mode and press disp. You put the color you want in the middle and press the left arrow. It copies that color, you can see it in a little sqare.

I fiddled with it some more today. I havn't come across an opportunity to put it to use yet though. Maybe this weekend.

My SX100 is doesn't have this. Was that a typo in your subject header?

Does all the A series have this or just the 610?

It's on my A630, so it'll be on the A610, A620, A630 and A640. I don't see it in the manuals for the A650 or A590.

Just to clarify.....is colour accent and/or colour swap useable only when shooting, or can it be applied "after the fact?"

I have a couple of shots, that, in retrospect, would look good with colour accent.

I don't believe you can do it in the camera after the fact; most photo editing programs will allow you to do it (with a greater or lesser degree of ease) in post-processing though.

I did not put that in the title. I left the model out because the topic to me was color accent, no matter which model. The forum mod person thought it would be better to clarify which model. I said I had an sx100is and just got the sx10is but I guess I wasn't clear enough. They edited the title for me.

Here is an example of 'color accent'. I focused on the brown color of my dog, but noticed I picked up the same color in other parts of the photo!
