I have looked through the People section and the Wedding section... Are stagette shoots common at all??
I have a request to shoot a stagette outside at night in the middle of April (so somewhat light outside). I'll have access to 2 flashes and umbrellas and am not worried about lenses...
Does anyone have any examples or ideas of poses... I was thinking everyone clinking a glass of champagne, and a few others. Also how do I light this?
I'm terribly beginner and doing this for some experience.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance!

I wondered if she meant the hens night. Not sure the guys or girls really want evidence of what goes on, plus photos would make people more self conscious and dampen things I think, especially later in the evening.

I have my own stag party in May this year and I dread to think how many pics my shooting partner Nick will be taking on that and no doubt blogging throughout it as well ..... obviously there will be no need for any censoring at that though ;)
Regards the OP find out from the bride to be what sort of shots she wants but of course everyone toasting with champagne is a must have.
Group shots with girls are easy because they generally dont have an issue with getting close to each other like some blokes do. Other than that just record the bits of the night that they want recoding, get at least an upper body shot of each person individually, any details if they dress up or dress the bride up. Get high, get low get tight and get wide ... just go for some variety.
Few ideas for group shots.
Charlies angels - The fanned out posing with guns shot from the film
Rugby scrum - Lay on the floor and get them to lean over and do a scrume over you
Choo choo train - Line up sideways on all facing the same way and then turn heads to face you, not a shot to do with guys but the girls its no problem to get them all really close.
Jump shot - get low and get them to jump in the air

Yes stagette = bachelorette party
The shoot will be done as a surprise to the bride (I don't know why?!) and will only be for half an hour before they go out, so I won't be recording the events of the night. It's basically just a few pictures of the bride to be and her closest friends and that's it. Jonwhite thanks for the posing ideas, will definitely think about them!

In my circle of friends, it's an unwritten rule that no cameras are "allowed" at the bachelor/bachelorette parties. I'm glad no one had a camera at my bachelor party

I agree that for certain parts of stag/hen do's cameras have no place, but if your having a long stag do like I am having then a camera isnt optional .... its a necessity because theres just gonna be sooo many opportunities for photos!
