Let's start with a bit of a back story to this problem; I have a smallish condo that I'm currently splitting with my sister. She's going to be moving out in a couple of months, which will leave the entire place for my use. The master bedroom (my room currently) is roughly 10'x12' with a walk in closet that currently houses my computer (more space then you think). My plan is to move into the smaller room and use the larger master for a small home studio.
My only issue with this is that the floor is carpeted and I will not be able to install hardwood for photos. I was inspired by an idea from one of the studio setup threads where someone had installed hardwood on a movable piece to allow flexibility in their setup. This seemed like the perfect solution to my problem, however I needed a larger size to accommodate full body portraits, and thus came up with this:

So what I'd like to do is something similar to a closet door that can be folded up for space, easier movement and the potential to have more than one style of floor.
The idea is of course to do this on the cheap. Including the cost of flooring, this should run around $100 CND or so. If it works the way I hope, I should be able to have 2 or 3 different 'floors' I can lay down and pack up.
Thoughts, suggestions, questions, critiques, etc etc.?
