Not sure on this one, but is this a flash template or maybe a dynamic flash template? If so you are going to have to remove much un-necessary coding so you can run successful SEO campaigns with Google and other search engines. If it is HTML based you should be fine.
In regards to design, there's not enough shown to make an opinon. I think what you are showing us is more of a landing page than anything else. Overall it is a very simple design which is good because simplicity will be easier for customers.

Highlight - check out this article about links (http://www.tampa-bay-fl-search-seo.com/The_Power_of_LINKS.pdf). You have 121+ links in your signature in this forum alone that have "My Website" as the anchor text (Karl, for you it's over 2200)! These could be doing a lot more for you!

Sorry, I think maybe you missed my point. You should change your anchor text from "My Website" to something more descriptive of the services you offer, as explained in this article about link building (http://www.tampa-bay-fl-search-seo.com/The_Power_of_LINKS.pdf): http://www.tampa-bay-fl-search-seo.com/The_Power_of_LINKS.pdf

I would even go so far as "Karl Johnston-Aurora Photography"
What are your potential clients more likely to search for, your name, or the service you offer?
Of course, it depends on your marketing goals as well...nothing wrong with using your name if your goal is to come up on page on when someone searvches for it - it all depends on what traffic you want to target...
Cheers,

I suppose in theory I could put a whole bunch of tags on each different website that I'm registered on and divy them up to hit the same site?

Yes you could, or you could focus on the top one or two - just make sure your anchor text is relevant and is consistent with your site's content.
Of course, it also depends on what keyword phrases you want to rank well for (and which ones people actually search for!), and how competitive they are.
Believe it or not, most of your search traffic (upwards of 80%) will come from only a handful of (5 or 6) keyword phrases. Generally, those are the ones you want to use.

it's ok, is there any slideshow effect on the home page or is it a static image?
