Edgy and Dark

I've been been contacted by several models lately that would like me to do a shoot with them.

Today one requested "What I would love is something glamourous but very edgy and dark….". Another wanted "Hip and edgy".

I don't what this means. I've asked both for examples but they both come back and just say, you know dark and edgy.

So help a brother out! What does a edgy/dark photo entail? If I don't know what it means does that mean I'm probably not able to shoot it? Is it one of those things where you either get it or you don't?

no- it's dark and edgy ;-) What I usually do with models if they are on Mayhem or another modeling site is to find examples and put them in a list/inspiration folder. That way I can see what they see.

This would be dark and edgy, but are they looking for this?
