Anybody out there running Photoshop CS4 with a 2.0 unibody Macbook?
I would like some user thoughts. I am considering the 2.0 macbook and upgrading the ram and hard drive. It's much cheaper than a MBP.

im assuming the title is the mistake not the post.
CS4 runs like a dream on the unibodies, i would highly recommend it. and 4gb of RAM makes a world of difference.

It runs perfectly fine for 98% of the things you do. Where is suffers a bit are those filters that leverage the gpu. But hopefully Snow Leopard will take care of that as it will utilize the gpu's 16 processing cores for all computing tasks, not just video tasks.

Yes the title is the mistake. The system will be using CS4. Are either of you using a Wacom tablet, if so, are there any issues?
I guess it's coming down to this:
I have used a Windows based PC forever and I am just tired of the crashes so I have decied to try Apple. I had a sales person really impress me at an Apple store but I am just worried that I will be spending too much time on the learning curve.

Learning curve? It's more like 'habit' curve :) Mac's are super easy to deal with, you just need time to adjust. Ever buy a new car? Given a little time you'll learn where all the buttons are. Subscribe to Photoshop User TV, MacMost NOw and Tekzilla podcasts in iTune's - all of them talk a lot about Mac's and eventually you'll be cruz'en along fine.

I have two MacBook's at work, us a MBP (early 08 ) and a few other MBP's at work (mainly for video production) and every single one runs Adobe's entire suite without much ado. Where the MacBook's lack is not in CPU but in screen and ports.

I would personally go for the MBP, but thats me. Otherwise, I would only upgrade to 4GB and then buy an aftermarket hard drive (like this one (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822136280)) vs. getting one from Apple (which don't have an option for a 7200RPM drive atm).

Edit: Oops, forgot the link. Now added.
