I tried a 15mm Canon Fisheye lense on my 300D at the weekend but due to the crop factor I lost the fisheye effect.
Is there any way around this or am I stuck?

I would have to believe you are "stuck".
Your 15mm lens on the 300D is equivalent to 23mm to a 35mm camera. Hard to get a fisheye affect at 23mm. You essentially have to go down to 8mm to see it on a 300D.
The EF-S 10-22 is of no use either since it corrects for the distortion. See my previous post for 10-22 examples.

That's pretty much what I thought. The annoying bit was that the crop removes all of the bit that really makes the fisheye effect.
Looks like I will have to stick to film with the fisheye then.

yea i have been in this HORRIBLE situation for some time..!! (BTW I lothe that Nik*n users have that 10.5 fish.. urghhhhhhhhhhhh)
I ended up getting the 10-22. I am now in my 10 day return period so I am going to take a lot of tests to see if i want to keep it.
The problem we have with canon (non fullframe dslr users that is) is we suffer from the 1ds having a full frame sensor.. With all of N*'s cameras having a crop, they have to serrioussly address the wide side of there lens lineup instead of refering the pros to a diferent body

Do you have an underwater housing? If not Iwould sugest you don't shoot surfing with a fisheye
