Hi Everyone , i take pics of snakes and insects in the wild so ultimate resolution and quality is foremost for me. I have a credit note at Jessops for £2000. my question is what camera is going to give me the best pics , the 1ds mark 1 or the 1d mark11 , i know i am going to have to add a few more quid to this. i have all the lenses and flash i need for my interest. just need any good advice , kind regards everyone. ps at present i use a 20d which is excellent as well!

Not a simple answer.
The 1Ds has more pixs.
The 1DMk2 has better FPS.
The 1DMk2 does much better at higher ISOs. (So letting you use faster shutter speeds).
So if being able to snap out 8 shots a second is important or you want to crank up the ISO go with the 1DMk2 if not then 1Ds is the one.
(PS I have the 1Ds so I have already made my choice:)

Jerry, you may have answered your question yourself! If Resolution and quality are the priority, then it has to be the 1DS MkII, FF sensor and 16.7Mpixels. Don't forget to get Jessops to price match before you part with your hard earned! They may have more shops and stock, but they are not the greatest on pricing, unless they pricematch!
I know I would have one.... ;)
enjoy

At current prices though, you will need to add a little more than a few quid (and I'm not sure if they will price match if you are using a credit note), the 1Dsmark II is currently showing as GBP 5299.99 body only and seems to be the only 1 series they stock, they dont seem to show the 1Ds I or 1D II.
