Have some out for a couple of days now and haven't noticed any missing ... how long did it take for the birds to find it the first time?

Any idea on the types of birds that might like it?

I've never heard of jelly being used, but the peanut butter (with seeds attached) usually gets picked at quickly. That being said, we also have had feeders out since we moved in, so we have an existing feeder population. I have to ask, did you cut the crust off:lol:

No ... I considered it but figured that if I started doing they would want little glasses of milk and cookies next. They will have to rough it ... life is hard! ;)

It usually takes me 7/10 days to see birds when I put a new feed type down. Once they find it they will visit daily.

Not sure what you would get. Let us know where you live and this might help.

Orioles will bite you if you get between them and their Grape Jelly. They will come out of the trees to get it. Peanut butter is what Nuthatches and woodpeckers like. Never tried mixing it. Still, you have to have Orioles around already, and nuthatches. What kinds of birds are in your area already? Probably a lot of bug eaters. Pretty hard to attract them with seeds and jelly though.

Well most of the P&J that I put out is gone .. no ants .. but have yet to see any bird around it. Maybe it is the night crew!

Are you there all day or just checking after work. If its gone or some is gone while at work something visited you. If you can watch it in the morning. The mockingbirds and wrens love the jelly. The wren just starting coming back in the fall and winter of last year and has hung around ever since. He or she sings every morning. The peanut butter and nuts is loved by all the birds but the finches. Have you tried whole peanunts; the woodpeckers and bluejays love them.
