well I'm off to Ireland for vacation. Got a brand new XT Rebel and was curious about recharging over there. I have the CB-2LT charger that came with the camera. It's the one that the plugs flip out from the actual charger. There is no cord. Will I be ok using adapters on this unit, does it convert the voltage? I figured someone here has gone through this. Thanks a lot!

Just plug it in thru an adapter -- no need for a voltage converter. If unsure, read the fine print on the back of the charger. it should say something like "100v-240v". In the US we use 110-120v, in Ireland they use 220-240v. The charger should work in both environments.
Have fun!

You probably just need a simple plug converter that you can get from the airport, or anywhere that sells travel stuff.
Those two pin American plugs are hillarious tho'  they keep falling out the wall. Who invented them? They're not even earthed are they?

The little US 2 pin plug should actually plug into the shaver plug fitting in most hotels, but as condyk says, the 2pin - 3 pin adapter is available in most airport shops.

I'm going to 2nd what Mark and Condy said. Check that the charger has "100-240V" or similar written on the back, then just get a simple physical plug adaptor. I moved electronics between Ireland and New Zealand, and with the cheap, simple convertor everything works fine. Ireland use the UK style plugs.
