I think it is beyond the realm of photography.

I like the painterly processing very much, and I would ask what you used to get that. It looks nice. For some reason, the duck, however, doesn't do much for me. I tried to figure out why, since normally I have no problem with duck pictures. I think that for me, I find his position to be, well, confusing. From where I sit, he looks like he is being blown backward more than anything. Or maybe it's something else. In any event, I like the processing more than the subject.

Ughhh....not a fan of the PP at all. Painting is not painting without actually doing something yourself other than what appears to be a one shot action.

I'm just not sure...I applaud the impulse to do something different with a duck--within moral and legal guidelines, of course--and I have no qualms with turning photographs into paintings, I guess, but I find it a little too...pastel. Yes that's it, pastel.

Alpha, perhaps you should look at some of Thomas Kincaids works. Most are reproductions with a swipe or two of paint to make them originals!
As for the photo in question, I like the idea, but this could be done better.
Paul, very nice way to save a photo!

His stuff is ugly too. Such contrived painting...

Do what you enjoy; it doesn't need to fit any particular persons view of what proper art is... Keep in mind photography itself wasn't (and still isn't some places) considered art for quite some time.
But regarding your picture... Technically it looks good to me but the colors throw it off, it looks kind of cartoonish and begs for "Richer" colors...
