With all the techie people hanging out around these parts. Has anyone come up with a way of powering up a 420 flash from a add-on (belt) battery pack? I ran thru 2 sets of AA on saturday. had to drive 1/2 hour to find more batteries.

Wow! Two sets of batteries in one day! How many pictures did you take?

I don't know of any belt pack power for the 420EX but the next best thing is a fanny pack full of AA batteries. :)

First thing you need to learn is to dump standard AA batteries and switch to 2500mah nimh rechargeables. They will begin to make your life a little more bearable.

There isn't an alternate way of supplying power to the 420EX without manufacturing your own fake battery substitute Ala Al Jacobs. I think the 420EZ had an alternate supply available.

It wasnt how many pictures that caused the problem - it was not checking to see if the second set were fresh and not the ones I forgot to throw away from 2 weekend ago!!!
