I do lots of indoor hockey and use 70-200 f2.8L IS,should I use a filter for protection or would they cut my light? Thx

maybe should be posted in another section...however.....since you asked and I am browsing through here....what type of filter? Circ-P....UV Haze....UV....ND? I do not see the need for an indoor filter unless it magically gave you more light:lol:

I use that lens 100% for indoor hockey and do not use any filters. I do use the lens hood however and when shooting through the glass this serves as my protection from bumping the lens into the glass.
In general I prefer not to use any filters as it adds another layer of glass to shoot through and in dark hockey rinks I like as much light to get to the lens as possible.
It may mean exercising a bit more caution, but so be it.
