I am trying to decide whether to shoot weddings with a crop sensor camera or full frame
I have a 40D and I'm trying to decide if I should buy a couple 5D/5DII's or just buy another 40D? Most of my lens would work with either camera, just would need to add a couple.
I do shoot mostly senior portraits and families right now and love doing mostly outdoor shots but I have a couple weddings this year too.

I know this is mostly a personal style question but wondering what others opinions are.

My opinion is to use full frame for weddings. Opportunities for wide angle and high ISO far out weigh the benefits of the cropped image.

I use both myself and put the lenses that utilize the best of each body.

Randy are you saying that you use both at the wedding? Like one of each hows does this effect the outcome of the mix of pictures?

I guess I don't understand the question. Mixing pictures from different bodies to me is like mixing with different lenses.

I normally use the full frame with a wide angle lens and plan to use available light or with the studio strobes when I bring them.

I use the 50D and 40D with both wide angle and telephoto with and without strobes or flash photo's.

Once I get back for post processing I usually do most of the rpocessing with the formals that used the full frame. The cropped bodies took mostly casual and ceremony shots that don't require a lot of post processing.

I use both. There are times when I wish I had two full frame cameras and other times when I'm glad I have one crop and one full frame. Any way it goes I'm most commonly resorting to standard zoom on one camera and fast prime on the other. The extra 2 stops of light really comes in handy...but so does the zoom.

I also use both (40D and 5D). They both have their advantages and can come in handy at different times with different lenses.

^ same here. I just got the ol 5D classic not long ago, and I'm in love with the combo.

I use two 40Ds and i'm happy with my tools. I've used full frame quite a bit but prefer cropped. I personally have no need for full frame right now, though I might go that way in future for the slightly better high iso and the narrower DOF.

Your vision and people skills will make far more difference than the size of your sensor. Lenses make more difference than camera too. Give me a G10, 40D, or 5D and i'll take good photos, better tools just make life easier - the G10 would be a bit of a nightmare but it could be done.

If you are running a business, you gotta evaluate whether or not the increased expenditure of those full frame bodies will bring a proportional amount of increased revenue. If you know right away that it will, then go for it. If you have money to burn then go for it. But do you NEED FF? Absolutely not. If I were shooting strictly weddings and had to give up either my crop bodies or FF bodies, I'd choose to keep my crops. Other people would choose the FF cams. You can do exceptionally well with either.
