I've found the Masters of Wedding Photography to be quite entertaining. Some by videos by Yervant are good too. Interesting to see him working.

On the photovision web site, they have educational DVD sets. There are sets geared for wedding photographers. I hope I dondutch with the moderators for this. If I step on a rule, please forgive me. The web site is www.photovisionvideo.com (http://www.photovisionvideo.com)
I am refereing to weddings volumes 1, 2 & 3. Each volume contains 6 dvd's. There are links on the site allowing you to preview what is contained on them. They also have DVD sets for lighting, photoshop and marketing. All are very well put together and top photographers are showcased. I know I walked away with a wealth of new found knowledge and belive the can help anyone interested in wedding photography.

I have volume one of the Photovision Wedding Techniques. I thought it was good but not great. Out of the 6 DVD's, I felt like I got about one DVD worth of good ideas and insights. I'm glad to have that, but at $75 - $150 per set for what tends to be maybe an hours worth of really good material, it's a little steep. And, over all that material, they haven't addressed what tends to be my most challenging issue when shooting a wedding, lighting well a dark and fast-moving reception. Nonetheless, I may still pick up 2 and 3.

I forgot to mention that these videos seem a little dated. Volume 1 talks about photojournalism as if it was something new and it was predominantly film based. Not a big deal as the principles are the same; just pointing it out.

You are correct in the dated part on volume 1. It was not dated when it came out, but by todays standards and methods it would be. They have a continuous set that arrives about one dvd every 2 months that is up to date. I have been away from the photography on a professional level for a few years now and am considering getting back at it. Of course then I was shooting Hasselblads and Canon 35mm film cameras.

I've watched the masters of wedding photography 1,2 and those are very nice to watch. I borrowed them from a friend for a few days,so I can't say I'd buy them, but for folks that are just getting into the industry, those may provide some inspiration.

I'm going to take the time to make notes from my 6 disc Wedding Techniques set and then sell the set on eBay (using the proceeds to purchase volume 2). I'll leave a message here when it's listed should anyone be interested.
