these are awesome pics. How far away were you? Your exif says 280mm focal......sure seems a lot closer to me than that.

I was off to one side of the goal with the sun to my back, late afternoon. I got in the stands at this particualr field and had an excellent vantage point from there and was comfortable unlike some of our counter parts. Too crowded on that little corner and no where to sit.
1st Shot was about 2/3 of the field away shot with 70-200 2.8L with 1.4 TC on it mounted to a MKIII. They are varying distances with the airtime and shadow being about 15 feet in front of me. I had my 300 2.8 out but after trying to jockey for position in the one crowed corner and not being able to support it without a hassle from front row seat I put it away and shot the 70-200. Some with and some without TC.

i love the shot with the player so graceful..you really capture her body language and emotion..very nice!

She had already made the cross kick and this was her position after the follow through.
Its one of my favorites from the whole game. Just the lines and posture and expression are so inviting. No way the photogs in the corner could have gotten this one. It was right up in their face and they would have had the view from her left. You can see the wall in the bottom of the frame. The corner chimpers were just out of the frame about 5 ft to the right. IMO they came packing glass that is too long. But at lest the female photog has another body with a 70-200 on it. Curly only had the one body and a shot of Marta he took that is on the LA page not only is not a shot of the titled head line you can only see her from the knees up and barely see one of her feet extended in a kick. She scored twice at close range and from the photogs point there was no shot to be had of either nor was there from my view, looking at the net. The fetured photo was down the side lines about 2/3 field of a pass.
