Here are some pictures I took today. My niece will be celebrating her Quinceañera ( similar to sweet sixteen ) in a couple of months and I want to order a canvas to have at the reception hall.
This is my first try at a "serious" picture session...so what do you guys think ?

Taken with my 40D / manual / 17-55 and 50mm 1.8

I got my first camera (XT) about 1-1/2 year ago and I've been reading this forum for about a year now....pretty nervous but I finally agreed to take her pictures.

Very well done, 1 & 7 are winners! You should be proud to display these at the quince on either a projector or maybe poster size prints.

Great job! The light is very flattering. I love #3. Especially if that really is her room. I believe it's shots like that that use the clients own room, etc that really mean something to her looking back on these photos as an adult. Nice framing with the curve of the bench in #2!

# 3 & 4 were taken in her room....we had the window and shutters open and we had some nice natural light, I used my 430EX for fill light.

Well, I showed the pictures to Mom and she really loved them all. I showed her the ones I posted here (my favorites) but I also showed her a couple more and the one she loved is one that I didnt think it was goint to like (#8 )....go figure :confused:
(8 & 9 are the only ones I did some photoshop)

....I asked her to come and see all of them :D

Very nicely done. One small tip, if you want to do canvas or gallery wrap, you'd need to shoot a bit wider for bleeds around the sides.

Thanks for the tip. I trimmed the images before posting to eliminate some of the empty space around it.
Im planning to use Mpix so I'll contact them to see how much space I need to keep.

Most of the shots are natural light but I used my 430EX for fill light.

I used the 50mm / f1.8 and natural light from the window behind her; used my 430EX for fill light.

Here is the picture chosen by Sam to be printed and to have at the reception hall.
I like the way it looks but is there anything I can do in CS3 to make it look even better....or should I just keep it the way it is?

We are going with the 16x20 canvas on matboard
