Hey, I tried searching for this but didn't find anything and don't even know how to word it, but I want to get a piece of glass to put below models' feet to get the cool floor reflection effect. This would go over whatever background I was using, muslin or paper or whatever. It's hard to explain, but you know, something like this but for full-length body shots instead of miniature cars haha: http://photography-on-the.net/forum/showpost.php?p=2794053&postcount=41

And what material would you use (glass, plastic, plexiglass) and where would you find it (Home Depot/Lowes or a furtniture store or what)? I hope someone here has something like this and can advise me, and also maybe share how much doing something like this costs. Also, does anyone have pictures of their set-up with something like this?

Thanks,
Filip

I'd say plexiglass/plastic would be the easiest way to do this, as a pane of glass that large would be HEAVY! No idea on costs of these solutions. If you're shooting mostly white, you can use white glossy tile board from Home Depot/Lowes. I'm getting ready to do this as I'm in the process of building a studio in my basement. 4x8 ft sheets run about $10-15 each. I took the idea from here: http://www.zarias.com/?p=71 . I like the idea of being able to shoot white/black/color with just one setup, since I have very limited space (and budget) at the moment.

Check out http://www.zarias.com/?p=71

he uses *thrifty White tilboard* to get that slight reflection.

It looks cheap enough! Also recomneds a playboard flooring under that too if your on carpet, so you dont ruin the paper or the tileboard, i can only assume tileboard is a very thin 3-4mm hardboard

Try different things see how you get on!

Best of luck!

I bought something similar to this from B&H. It was a plexiglass mirror, great for reflections, kids can crawl on it, people can walk on it. You can cut it to make a crazy reflector. Problem is, I can't find it again on B&H. grrr. Cost about $40 for a 4'x2' piece.
