Im trying to separate my pictures into groups but cant think of what to place what into.
What titles do you think would be good as well for putting on a website.
I had, 'nature, people, street, events, creatures (being animals n bugs etc)' but thats all I could think of....
Would love to know how you guys separate your pics.

I tend to categorise by date/place. I started out with Landscapes/people/nature etc but found them too broad so I am more specific these days.
Have a look at my website and flickr site to see what I mean.
On my hard drive everything goes by date so I have a 2009 folder in which are 12 folders - 1 for each month and then into those go a folder for each day I take photos.

but what if you are trying to show them off in a gallery?
Like an online portfolio? :)

Depends on what it's for. On my flickr, I have 1: Fashion/people/portraits, 2: Birds/nature/landscapes, and 3: Urban/miscellaneous, since you can only have 3 sets in the free account.
For the work I do, my website is under renovation, but I'm not gonna show any of my birding or landscapes or street work since I'm a fashion photographer. So my categories are gonna be tailored to my clients, something like: Fashion, Beauty, Portraits/Headshots, Editorial, Runway/Fashion shows/Events, and Creatives (but not that many categories, maybe just Fashion, Creative, and Beauty).
All depends on what it's for and what your limitations are. You don't want too many categories, but then you don't want to be too vague either.
