Not in the US he couldn't. If asked nicely I'd probably respect the officers wishes and delete them, but if push came to shove and you took the images in public there's nothing he could legally do to force you to delete them.
note I said legally

So six tough-looking and armed cops decided they had no alternative but to spray a single woman with this stuff in order to protect the public?
Seems a little excessive to me. Over here its the cops who end up in court for behaving like that.

Easy there buddy, you don't know the situation. She could have been high on meth freaking out and instead of beating her with a batoon they decided to spray her. People are too quick to jump on cops.

Nice PJ shots, both of them are good.
Wow, I see 4 firemen off the fire truck and 1 cop. I must have missed the shot with 6 cops in it. If women cause problems... hey, they have equal rights over here! They can be treated just like a man :)

The mace subdues people without injury and is alot more effective, where a batton can hurt for some time after the incident and look really bad if the public are looking on.......

Also if any of the 6 male cops touched or held her the wrong way, they might be sue for sexual harrassment. Thats why it is easier to use mace to stop her of what ever she was doing.

Ooops, my bad! I typed the reply without having the picture open - should have looked a little closer to see that the other guys are actually firemen.
I know that many cops have a tough job, but it just makes me a little uneasy to see a woman being treated in this way. The cop looks like a big guy. Surely it would be sufficient to grab her by the wrists and pop her in the police car? Sometimes it is better to use the minimum force and keep the situation calm rather than going in too aggressively.
That said, and as Ian has pointed out, we don't know the background to this. Perhaps if someone is high on drugs then the police have to respond in a stronger way.
I think our own police over here, who, unlike elsewhere in the UK, do carry sidearms, generally take a much more 'softly softly' approach. They have to - people are very quick to lodge a complaint. But I tend to think the minimum force policy is a good one regardless.
