i just went out and and got some quick shoots of the moon, i used my bigmos with a sigma 2X TC and a kenko pro 300 1.4X TC stacked, all handheld(tripod not handy) i figure the combo can out pretty sharp. what your options?

Thanks!

Pretty good stuff with stacked TCs, especially handheld! I'd love to see one with a tripod setup!

my tripod will be here tomorrow, and i think the moon will be full then, and this time i think ill head outta town to get away from the city lights.... im pretty amazed at how sharp stcked TC's on a 500mm are! specially since there giving a 1400mm range whichs works out to a 2240mm on my 50D's 1.6 crop sensor! handheld to boot!....is this common for TC's to perform this well when stacked?

Show us some close-ups from shots with the tripod!

This is what I get with a 150-500 on a tripod - reduced in size by around 50 pixels along each edge (so very nearly 100% crop):

I reckon you'll get a load more detail. Would love to try a 2x on the 150-500! :)

I love the pictures of the moon! better than some of my pictures i have taken! i remember the first time i pointed my camera at the moon...

never ended well, could not get why a long shutter speed would make it a blur  afterall i was new to it all and i thought humm dark out :D

But dont worry i soon learnt :D

great shots!
