I am doing my first Senior Shoot soon, and I am wondering if anyone has any advice that they think would be particularly helpful.
I have been looking at other peoples posts and that is helping some. I am just wondering if there are ant tricks or anything to make them really stand out. Thanks for the help.

David,
I go through all the seniors posts in the portrait section here and when I find shots that I really like, I copy them off to my hard drive. I then make a contact sheet in Photoshop of all of them and review it before the shoot. It helps me come up with ideas, backgrounds, and looks. You also need to have some knowledge of the senior, what are they into (music, cars, skateboarding, sports) and how you might incorporate that into your shot. I'm sure others can give more advice.

I work for a directory, adding websites and building out categories. I am just finishing up a US states category with all 50 states and trying to add 10 portrait websites for each state. That's 500 portrait websites, so I see a lot of them and a lot of styles. I have been into photography all my life and considered myself pretty fair. But I got to tell you, I have grown some new respect for these people and their photographic abilities. Many, not just some, many of these people are world class photographers, some of their portraits will take your breath away. Not the people, but the light, the poses, the 'feel' of the image. I wish I were half as good. I would search around looking at as many sites as possible, find a sytle you like and learn from what you find. I'm sure experience is going to be a huge teacher. :)

Thank you everyone.
I also look at as many pictures as possible and learn as much as I can from them. I will post some of them as soon as I take them, for your feedback and comments.
Thanks again for the comments and advice.
