Love the third one! Looks like turds coming out of it... :D
Excellent prop blur - just right!

Good catches, but they're a bit dark in FF3.

Thanks. 1/160th seems to work really well for herks. I normally shoot M, but for these shot Tv and played with the metering mode. I think I much prefer M.
Photosguy, which part looks dark? the sky or the herk? I was trying to get some sort of balance between a bright enough herk, and not a washed out sky. These were not shot in the best of light. Pretty much straight off the nose.

a bit dark in FF3. I take it back. I was rushed this AM & I think I viewed them in the IE tab. The sky is OK. Maybe just a touch more contrast in the Herc in #1?

Its' a Big Nose Herc, kinda like Pinocchio ;)
Otherwise, they all look good, but the composition of #3 is the best IMO.

Guess you're down in Fla close to Hurlbert Field? Nice shots of a fully spammed up Talon II doing its (training?) stuff.

Nice shots. Brings back memories of my Army service in the eighties. I could exit a Talon II on my own then. Now, I suspect they'd have to palletize me. Yeah, I've put on quite a few pounds in 20+ years! ;-)

I'd say Mildenhall. they do look like a slight bump in contrast is in order. The P is better than the H (better lighting? Different evening?). Great timing on the upside-down CDS.

I did bump the contrast a little bit. If I go any more than it already is, however, it tends to darken the shadows even more and it doesn't look very good imo. anyone wanna take a shot at bumping the contrast? I'd like to see what you mean.
I am pretty happy with the shadow pic. no cropping done what so ever. the talon shots are a bit cropped.

A good bit of fiddling in LR2 and you're right, not much there but brought out the sensor dust more:cry: Stick with the original.

I think I used my 70-200 for the talons and the 100-400 for the shadow? Maybe. Yeah, my sensor doesn't ever ever want to stay clean. I try, but it's a losing battle. One of the days had some haze so I think maybe a little high pass might help it.
