I don't know that vendor, but I spent last weekend testing a borrowed 28-105 on my 300D and it was very good indeed. Quick, quiet focus and full time manual override. Images were nice and sharp. I am tempted to purchase one myself but the only niggle is that 28mm is not wide enough for my liking. I have the 18-55 kit lens though and am considering keeping hold of it for the wide angle shots. I am going to test the 24-85 later this week so it will be interesting to see how that compares.

I bought this lense a while ago. It is quite good. This picture was taken with that lense. I photoshopped it a little, but, the picture was pretty good even without PS. Take note, i'm a lousy photographer. :o I'm quite happy with this lense.

This lens is currently my 'walk around' lens of choice. Every now and then I get caught at the wide end of the range, so often tuck my 18-55 kit into the bag just in case.
The vast majority of my shots are taken on this lens. I have messed with the idea of going to the 18-85IS or the 28-135IS from time to time, the 17-85 mainly because I get caught at the wide end more often than the long end.
I have though about L's but they just don't have the flexablity I need in a walk around lens.

I had one for a long time. It was absolutely my walk around lens on my Elan 7E. Having switched to digital it got swapped out for a 24-85 and now a 17-40. It's a very good lens but with the crop deal I think you'll get better use out of a 24-85 which is optically identical.
If you use ebay expect to pay around $175 for an excellent condition 28-105 Mk2 with its lens hood and a filter, maybe the box too. A bit less if its a Mk1. Or, around $225 for a 24-85 and its bits.

If $200 is Canadian fund, it would be a good price.

I really like this lens for outdoor walk abouts and the occasional studio work where I need a wider angle. Usually because my livingroom is so small. I have the Tamron 28-75, but I like to use this one indoors where I do not have control over the lighting, such as bodybuilding/figure competitions. The other thing about this lens is it is a pretty good macro lens. Last monday I got some prett cool butterfly and wildflower pics with it.

Vistek is one of Canada's largerst professional dealers. I have bought from them twice and been very satisfied. A very good lens, maybe the best non-L zoom that Canon makes.
