CAn anyone recommend a really low noise compact? Most I have tried are unusable over ISO 400 , and even at ISO 100 can be noisy, limiting the size of prints.
Would be interested for feedback on this - Canon or any make.

DP1 (and upcoming DP2) are the only APS-C based compacts, and will have cleaner images in ISO400 and better than compact at ISO800.

Panny LX3 has pretty good output ISO 400, and surviveable ISO800 in B&W

Canon G10 is reported to have good output if high ISO is run through DXO optics pro. I don't have this myself, so only passing on hearsay.

Fuji F200 (and the older F30) look good at high ISO. F30 has issues in bright light, though.

Another plus to G10 I think is RAW, give more control over noise reduction.

Is there a low noise compact?
They're extremely good nowadays but not exactly renowned for their performance at high ISO.
