Hi...posting my first lowlight shot taken on 1000d with the 50mm F1.8 cheapo lens. It;s an outdoor stage facing the harbourfront. It's where many aspiring newcomers perform. Pls advise on composition and exposure etc...thks!

Looks ok generally to me... exposure has a bit of satisfying detail in most shadows, very little is blown in any colour channel - mainly the white pick guard which is blown in the green channel. Main things are just getting light onto the face, and waiting for that magic moment of extra energy, postural interest, facial expression, or - if you or they're walking around - a chance to get a couple band members into one shot. With a 50mm can't expect you to get in much closer. f/2, 1/100s, ISO 800 all look reasonable. Focus looks good. You could potentially do something to reduce the colour casts at top and bottom, but whether it'd be considered an improvement is very subjective. Cheers, Tony

Thks Tony! Lightings quite tricky there with different colors all over the place. These guys were rocky and moving all over so quite difficult to nail a sharp one. I know almost nothing abt PP so nothing much i can do abt the colors. Agreed that it would be nice to capture some facial xpression or maybe slow down to capture some hand motion...
