http://www.fotel.com/resources/faqs/ean.htm

I think the EAN is the larger UPC # and something more common to Europe. UPC is a subset of EAN

Outside of manufacturing and retail, it means nothing. Unless, perhaps, you are interested in moving into retail.

VISUALAre you asking a question? An EAN code is simply a product code, just like the ISBN number on a book. What's so interesting about knowing the EAN codes for Canon cameras?

Hi folks,

it's one of those wonderful pieces of information that appears to be useless but is hard to get hold of. Once you do have it it's much easier to "bluff" your way with companies so that it sounds "like you know what you are doing and are in the trade". Colour me suspicious but there is a wonderful book called "The art of deception : Controlling the Human Element of Security " which is all about using insider information to build a relationship with company employees so as to get around security and get goods/information that you shouldn't have.

It could be that Visual is totally legit, but it is somewhat susupicious that this is his/her only post.

Best regards
