Weird pose?

Can you please tell me if this is an awkward pose(the first one)? Does it look like he has arms coming out of his head? Which do you like better? Thank you so much :)

I like the second one a good deal better than the first. The first one does look odd with that camera angle, I think it works better when it is wider and you can see the elbows.

I do like it more than the first one, although I still don't think that it is wide enough for that pose. I think it would be much better if the elbows were in the shot.
