This fellow somehow got into the house today, and gave my wife a scare when she touched it unexpectedly. He ran behind a chair and lie motionless for several minutes whiile I got this shot.

Among other tricks for survival, he rolled on his back and played dead, and bit me (didn't hurt or break the skin).

Pretty thing whatever it is!It's a five-lined ("blue-tailed") skink - related to salamanders, I think. They're common here, and very quick.

Nice capture. How's the wife?;) She's fine, thanks. Thought it was a mouse when she first touched it.

<shiver> lol, I don't like critters as this. Put never turned down a photo opp either . . . quick thinking on your part.
